The Gladiator is Reliable

No rudder feedback transducers to install:

Rudder feedback transducers are the weakest link w ith autopilots. This is a huge determination in the re liability of autopilots. T R-1 autopilots do not need rudder feedback transducers . This is now a thing of the past. The TR-1 Gladiator provides the right solution. TR-1 has pe rfected an autopilot without rudder feedback transducers. The re are no transdu cers to constantly maintain or replace.

With patented mathematical algorithms and tachomet ry, the TR-1 Gladiator steers to maintain a constant magnetic heading. The TR-1 Gladiator forms a rudder rate command from a combination of the compass, gyro an d engine tachometer inputs. The rudder rate is calculated and is sent to the p ump controller 20 times a second assuring unsurpassed reliability and quicke r response to wind, waves and current to keep you straight on course.

Waterproof component s like the handheld/remote, d eck mount switch and the Electronic Control Unit, with its filled electroni c grade potting compound and its gold waterproof pico connectors make for a sys tem sure to withstand the toughest saltwater environment.

The Gladiator is capable of having three or more h andhelds. This gives you the flexibility and convenience you need as you move f rom one station to another. The Gladiator is also capable of steering commands using the optional wireless remote, which gives you the freedom to move about the boat without being tethered to a co rd.

Auto Tune: The Gladiator has an autotune feature f or simplified setup, which is unique in the autopilot industry. Tunes i tself au tomatically, or allows you the option to tune it yourself. This is a standard fea ture.

GPS Functions

The TR-1 Gladiator can interface with any GPS syst em and tie into your complete navigation format. We stay on waypoints and connec t to new ones automatically. The Gladiator will communicate with most marine de vices via NMEA 0183. (NMEA (0183) 2 inputs, 1 output)

Course over ground: If you press and release the G PS button when the autopilot is in heading hold and the GPS does not have an ac tive route, the pilot will maintain the GPS course over ground instead of the magnetic heading.
Steer to waypoint ( s): If you press and release t he GPS button when the autopilot is i n heading hold and the GPS has an a ctive route, the pilot will steer to the s elected waypoint.

TR-1 Gladiator is the Fisherman's Autopilot

SPECIAL FISHING FEATURES:
*Circles: T he Gladiator is capable of a continuou s circles with lap times adjustable from 1 to 90 minutes, which allows you to stay with the fish.

*Zig-zag: Performs a continuous zig-zag pattern, w hich allows you to cover more area for finding fish. The length and degree of zi g-zags are adjustable.

*U-Turns: Performs left or right U-turns with a pr ess of a button.

*Step turns: Allows driver to change heading from 1 to 90 degrees in any direction with a single press of a button.

*Man Overboard Maneuver (MOB): The Gladiator perfo rms the Williamson maneuver perfectly. This is for safety or coming back over a specific point for fishing or navigating, without the use of a GPS.

Reverse: The autopilot works in reverse.

*GPS Modes: With a user-supplied GPS, the Gladiato r is capable of search patterns, orbits, o r cloverleaf patterns around a waypoint.
